Dental Crowns: Same Day Service
Our Chandler, AZ dental practice offers full-coverage dental crowns, made from luminous porcelain and Zirconia materials. Dental crown restorations offer beautiful aesthetic results that protect your natural tooth from further damage or decay. They’re also perfect for topping off your dental implants.
Dr. Lopez is certified to use the CEREC crown restoration system. This same day dental crown system makes it possible for patients to receive a customized crown in just a few hours rather than waiting 2 weeks for a crown to be created and placed.
Same Day Dental Crowns (CEREC)
CEREC same day dental crowns are extremely durable, with studies showing that Cad Cam ceramics are the 2nd longest lasting restoration behind gold.
Dr. Lopez often recommends same day crowns because of their benefits, such as:
- Less tooth sensitivity
- Ability to prepare the tooth and place the permanent crown in one day
- Highly accurate digital impressions
- Greater convenience toward the patient’s schedule
- No room for human error
What Can I Expect From My Visit?
If Dr. Lopez and Dr. Lamborn agree you are an ideal candidate for a CEREC same-day crown, you don’t have to worry about waiting 2 weeks or more for a lab to create your permanent crown!
The first step is for Dr. Lopez and Dr. Lamborn to remove the decay and shape the tooth for a perfect fit inside the crown. A wand will be used to take digital photos of your tooth inside your mouth.
Advanced computer software will create a 3D model of the tooth using those photos. The 3D model is then sent to another machine in our office that will create the shape of a crown from a piece of ceramic.
This entire process of creating a crown in the dental practice can take less than 15 minutes!
What Is A Dental Crown?
A dental crown is one way to fill gaps in your smile. Crowns can help restore your smile if you have missing or damaged teeth.
The tooth-shaped “cap” placed over your tooth helps restore the tooth’s shape, size, strength and overall appearance. Dr. Lopez and Dr. Lamborn may recommend a crown to:
- Cover misshaped or discolored teeth
- Cover and support a tooth with a large filling
- Restore a broken tooth
- Help hold a dental bridge in place
- Cover a dental implant
- Cover a tooth that has been treated with a root canal
Is A Dental Crown The Right Choice For Your Smile?
Are you suffering from tooth pain due to a large cavity or have you broken a tooth? A dental crown can be one of the best ways to restore strength to your teeth.
Some patients we see at Riggs Family Dental struggle with weak teeth that can benefit from the extra support a dental crown can bring.
If a CEREC same day crown isn’t the right fit for your smile, our dental practice works closely with a local lab and ceramist to design a crown that will be the right fit for you.
